Welcome to the Submissions Area of Strange Tales, where you will find all of the information you need to propose a series.

First of all, please keep in mind that we are very selective about what writers and what titles we will accept for the site. If we reject a submission, please do not be offended. Strange Tales only accepts the best of the best in order to continue the quality of excellence that the site has maintained over the years. All proposals will be reviewed and evaluated by the two Caretakers of Strange Tales: Chris Munn and Mike Rasbury.

Strange Tales is not interested in four-color superheroics. This site deals with the darkest corners of the Marvel Universe, and our titles deal with the deepest, scariest parts of humanity; superheroes need not apply. With this in mind, let's talk submission guidelines. For whichever series you choose to submit a proposal for, please give us an accurate description of what you would like to do with the concept and characters. Strange Tales already has a wide range of genres in play, so tell us what makes your series stand out from the crowd. Sell us on your shit, in other words. Also include plans for future plots and a detailed list of characters (please consult our Reservations page before requesting characters).

Below you will find information on titles that are currently open for submissions. By no means are they the only titles that we will accept proposals for, but keep in mind that not all Marvel characters or titles will be appropriate for our mission statement. We also accept original concepts (see Apparitions), but these will be viewed with just as much - if not more - scrutiny than established characters/concepts.

For writers who wish not to write an ongoing series, Strange Tales has recently opened its new anthology title, The Haunt of Horror. We are actively seeking both one-shot stories and multi-part limited serials of this series, and will entertain both established Marvel characters and new concepts. Because it is an anthology, we will allow writers to pen stories featuring characters already in use at the site, but any and all story ideas for these characters must be cleared with that character's regular writer before the stories will be posted. It is the site's desire to have each issue of the Haunt of Horror feature at least two or more stories, so participating is eagerly encouraged to both new writers and established staff.
